We know that from time to time, unexpected life challenges arise that create barriers for students to continue their studies. The Student Support Fund provides students with urgent financial assistance to help cover immediate, essential expenses as a result of an emergency.

Our students are Nipissing University, and we simply wouldn’t exist without them. Many students at Nipissing are attending as first generation, mature learners and are attending post-secondary studies despite any life challenges they have encountered along their journey. Nipissing University has established a Student Support Fund to provide urgent financial assistance to students unable to cover immediate, essential expenses as a result of an emergency.

Areas of support may include:

Family crisis
Food insecurity
Housing insecurity as a result of an emergency
Exceptional life circumstance (illness in family, fire, flood etc.)
Urgent travel due to emergency

“I would like to thank you and express my gratitude towards you for this donation. My father is currently in the ICU on life support in critical condition and this is a very difficult time for my family and me to be organized and stay strong. The support I received through The Student Support Fund allowed me to pay my rent, buy groceries, and support my family. Thank you for helping my family and I in relieving pressure during these very difficult times.”
“The support I received through the Student Support Fund allowed me to pay for a portion of my upcoming Spring/Summer Semester. Without this support, I may have not been able to pay for my tuition, which meant I would have had to take the semester off and delay my study plan that has projected graduation for next year.”
